The sun has set.
The world is at peace.
The silence prevails.
The red sky turns navy blue.
And the creatures of the night,
feel the time is right.
And wake from their daytime slumber.
Wolves howl their chorus
up to the moon,
as she fills the darkness with a silver light.
Owls fly on finding their prey.
Little mice that scurry about in the brush.
A deer leaps and bounds into a feild
Where he gets his breakfast of grass.
The sky appearing as a black velvet dress
The stars glitter upon the blackness.
The moon a pearl necklace.
Clouds move in slowly.
To appear as a pillow for the moon to rest upon.
Oh the wonder of the night.
The
Darkness lives.
In the hearts and souls of many.
None will seek the light.
Hate grows like a cancer.
Infecting the world.
With war.
Countries divided by hate.
Can only be united in love.
No side is right.
No side is wrong.
But lies are all we see.
Never before us is the truth.
When the truth is like a winged bird
Spreading its wings to help us fly.
The darkness is in the lie.
It is gravity bringing us down.
Dragging us into a deep pit of darkness.
Tick tock
goes the clock.
Follow me
for only I can see.
Tick tock
The gate is locked.
Let's run away
from the demon in gray.
Where's the exit?
No need to panic.
Away from the screams
away from the never-ending dreams.
Isn't that door
something we saw before?
Put your trust in me
for only I can set you free.
Tick tock
No need to be in shock.
I'll bring you into the light,
so don't tremble in fright.
Tick tock
Our escape is blocked!
Sound of footsteps getting near
of my master whom you so fear.
Tick tock
Please.... stop.
Worry not, this won't last.
For when it comes, the end will be fast.

A feminine voice echoed throughout the cold corridors, word had come to the girl that her father had fallen ill and that her elder brother was nowhere to be found; worried she had rushed from the capital where she lived with her husband to the house where she had been born in on the far north of Portugal, the ride had taken three days...
-Alice, your brother… he has no idea, but this deed of his will affect the future…- the middle aged man uttered as his eyes fell upon his only daug
Music is first -
splitting the primordial
with a mellifluous sword.
The hearbeats of newborns
coat her blade as she strikes
at foes attacking her litter.
Then, amid storms and stones,
she sings them lullabies
as they cling on her teat.
Trees are second -
sweet and somber magnolias
sprouting in a sea of concrete.
Palms of cracked skin trace
the ridges of their bark.
Frail flowers the color
of mother's milk spill
all their sordid secrets
for the ears of bystanders.
Kisses are third -
Her purple lips a remedy
for broken eyes and wet cheeks.
Then, she whispers gently
to placate their silent anger.
Their hands creak like the doorstep

I think about all the wishes I made on every birthday cake,
on every coin I tossed in a wishing well,
on every random star I picked
whether it was shooting
or not.
How they’ve gathered through the years,
dusty with all my metaphors
and forgetfulness,
a centimetre away from completely fading.
They were like roses in full bloom—
heavy with distant breaths
and light as they scattered through the air.
But these days my wishes are simple,
thrown to clouds and flowers
that are not daffodils:
to be able to sleep without dreaming
and to wake without wanting to go back
to sleep.
The stars don’t stare at me the same way they
Agony’s abhorrent grasp sent a horrific note from the demon’s tongue. Raging symphonies rushed to his pounding head. Throbbing, twisting coils writhing about his brain. He fought against his bonds. Wrenching at them. He slammed his feet against the stone wall, scraping flesh over the rock. Anything to mute the Hellish fires let loose in his shuddering frame.
Another harsh scream rattled the air.
It tore the soft flesh at the back of his throat. He clawed his fingernails down the wall, fraying shards bleeding down the stone. The air itself shook, moonlight diving behind foreboding clouds. Raindrops pelted down beyond the walls.
If I had known life was a clenched fist,
I would’ve taken that punch gratefully,
taste tested my blood, and breathed easy.
But, someone taught me
it is a soft touch, brush stroke,
They told me, “Everyone is special.”
But no one warned me
that my body doesn't care if I’m special
that the body breaks quicker than the mind
that the mind breaks quicker than the heart
that the heart breaks quicker than the lungs
that the lungs work until nothing else does.
There are dead men with more hope than
these bones. They crack like glass under pressure
and one day dream of being sand.
I can’t stop thinking about how I am g

against the backdrop of their smiles.
